The article would also seem to be interesting to anyone who's ever worked in a record store.

(WW) WallyWorld is a giant retail outlet with more power than any other retailer out there. While I have never purchased music from (WW) I have not purchased any music since the RIAA started to sue it's customers.
I do shop at (WW) but I have become very selective as I find while they have us brainwashed as the low price store continously reducing prices while they are continously increasing them as well.
I am sure the music they have available is basicaly what is in demand and a major portion of thier muic sales are made because of convience as well as getting the whole family to want to visit and buy more.
Indie music probably will never get space at store like that but then that is where the hope lies for small time guys , indie collectors, imports whatevers, they just will never be retail mongers.
With the age of digital music, distribution of this media should be much easier over the internet and SHOULD be MUCH MUCH less costly for ALL!!
Perhaps a message board like this one could be used to discuss new music along with links to the various musicians. so all you small time outlet think about it as well as all those up and comming musicians out there.
