Default If you had to pick...

If you had to pick... what would you say is your ALL TIME favorite group and/or song?

What about THE all time greatest group and/or song?

I can't choose... can you?

if you had to pick
you had to decide
which oxygen molacule
felt best inside
would it be your first breath
or would it be your last
in the present or in the past
and if you had to pick just one
what heart beat would be your
number one
give us an answer
give us a clue
we just might understand
what type of person
are you

Well, some might see it as the corny reply, but I have to say my father is the greatest musician of all time.

He's always been a pioneer in moving into new mediums and he's one of the first successful professionals to move into digitally created music. He does everything on all his cds (except for the graphic design in some cases, which I sometimes do) so that he can have complete control over the finished product and not only that, but he's good at all stages of production (how many musicians can say that?). He can pick up an instrument and even if he's never played it before, he can play it with just a few minutes of getting used to the instrument. Same thing with music -- he hears it once and he can play it and even make variations on it. He mostly does easy listening and new age now, but he can play pretty much anything. He's been writing since he was a teenager and some of his work is just astounding. I would feel privileged just to know him or watch him play; being his daughter is an honor.

And my favorite song is one he wrote for me when I was little, "Music Box Dancer".

That's an awesome story! You're lucky to have been exposed to such talent especially growing up. Who wouldn't want someone to write a song about them?

Just one?!

I mean, for me, a different mood calls for different music so it'd be hard to pick just one favorite..

Favorite song? That depends on my mood. Could be any one of a hundred but today I’m feeling sentimental so I’ll go with “In My Life” by The Beatles

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends
I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

Favorite song? Band? Never could pick just one. Every thing in my life is associated by a song or a musical group of some style.

Depends on my mood, depends on what is going on in my life, depends on who I am with, what I'm involved with etc. etc. lol

I can go from listening to old rock to new wave, to Christian rock, to Black Eye Peas, to kids nursery songs to classical and enjoy them all.

I will say the music that influenced my childhood the most was the Beatles, namely Paul. I don't think any group, any set of songs, have ever come close to the talent, the music, the surge that the Beatles took hold of everyone. Yesterday was a song that I could play over and over and over and over and never tire of it. Paul was my Idol when young.

Later I would have to say Led Zepplin and ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, all supplied my love for music.

Some of the songs that was engraved in my mind and brings up some bittersweet memories would be Bridge Over Trouble Waters, Color My World, Like A Rock, Turn the Page to name a few.

Yanni holds some special memories of my Mother since she introduced me to this music and we both had a love for his style.

Right now my daughter and I have been in a strange mood for our music and have been playing all of Adam Lambert's music tonight playing his song Mad World over and over. Can't ever get bored with that song.

Anyways, not just one song....many songs help develop me into the person that I am musically.

I couldn't pick a single favorite song or band either because it largely depends on the mood I'm in at the moment.
