From the article:
GREEN BAY — Forbes magazine’s annual analysis of the value of major sports franchises says the Green Bay Packers are worth more than $1 billion.
That ranks the Packers, a nonprofit corporation in the smallest market in the National Football League, 16th in terms of team value.
Forbes puts the Dallas Cowboys first on the list of the NFL’s 32 teams with a value of $1.6 billion.
The magazine ties the value of the Packers to the $295 million refurbishing of Lambeau Field in 2003 and a number of key sponsorships, including MillerCoors.
The magazine includes Lambeau Field in its calculations even though the city, not the Packers, owns the stadium.
