TOWN OF WOLF RIVER — An item described as a "vintage antique hand grenade" was disposed of safely Wednesday after it was discovered in a home here.
Sgt. Gordon LeDioyt of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department said a contractor doing repair work at a home that is in foreclosure found the item.
The home on Oak Lane was unoccupied, LeDioyt said.

Authorities were apparently unable to determine if the grenade were live or not.. most dummy grenades I've encountered have either had the core removed or were a solid piece of cast metal.
