I was just watching former Beatle Paul McCartney perform Let Me Roll It on YouTube and that has to rank as one of my favorite Wings tunes but I was most struck by a comment someone made concerning how Paul would have fared if he'd never met John. They speculated he might have gone on to become a "cook or something". Kind of makes you think, regardless, of the effect some people have in our lives, doesn't it?
Paul, being a talented musician in his own right, might have gone on to play in another band and still have been just as influential musically as he is today.
Who drove or influenced who? I realize it's all conjecture but what is your opinion?
