Audio CD
Title:Kicking Television
Artist(s):Wilco
Original Release Date: November 15, 2005
Format:Live
Label:Nonesuch Records
ASIN: 79903-2

The first time I ever heard of this group was on a cd with Billy Bragg title Mermaid Ave. I knew very little of this group other than my assumption that they were Billy's back-up band. Mermaid ave was a release of unrecorded Woody Guthrie lyrics and was an excellent recording but that is for another time.
Kicking Television kicks your butt. Recorded at Chicago's Vic Theater recorded May 4, 2005 to May 7, 2005, the dynamics of this live recording come through extremely well and for all you boomers out there, it demonstrates how a group of young and very talented individuals having the influence of the 60's, can create a modern and appeasing cross-generational sound.
My impression was strong hints of John Lennon backed up by The Band.

"give it a spin" both young and old should enjoy this great work
